About the Department

A sustainable clean and green environment

The department of Environment & Solid Waste Management is one of the ten functional departments in the county, headed by the County Executive Committee Member (CECM). It has one County Chief Officer who is the accounting officer of the department.

Core Functions & Mandate

01. Coordinates and manages the county's budgeting process, revenue collection, resource mobilization both internally and externally

02. Coordinates and prepares the county's medium term expenditure framework

03. Prepares the fiscal strategy paper and the mandatory budget documents

04. Ensures adherence to internal control systems for all departments

05. Coordinates and manages the county's finance and economic policy

06. Ensures procurement procedures are followed as per the set guidelines and regulations for all departments

07. Provides leadership and coordination in county development planning

08. Coordinates county and sub-county development programs
