Dr. Sabah Ahmed is a seasoned health professional and researchers. She has over 20 years of leadership and management experience across clinical, research and academic settings. She is a holder of a PhD in Malaria Chemotherapy from London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, a Master's Degree in Biochemistry and BSc in Chemistry and Zoology. Dr Sabah has held numerous high-impact leadership roles. She holds pivotal research positions at the Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI) where she led the Center for Geographic Medicine Research-Coast and directed malaria research initiatives. A prolific researcher has also authored over 80 peer-reviewed publications, primarily in the field of malaria. Her research portfolio spans critical themes such as drug resistance in malaria. Her work has informed policy decisions and contributed to international projects funded by organizations globally. Her leadership in this area has earned recognition by WHO-AFRO as a potential Center of Excellence for malaria drug resistance research in East and Central Africa.
